The Seven was completed in 2013 as part of the redesign and revitalisation of the site of the former Müllerstrasse combined heat and power plant. Munich is one of the most dynamic locations in Germany, with the strongest economy. The city comfortably tops the city rankings of the business magazine Wirtschaftswoche. Munich is also regularly in the highest positions in the rankings published by Mercer, The Economist and the Smart City Index. In quality of life, economy, innovative strength and governance – the Bavarian capital knows how to impress.
At the same time, the location is exceptionally robust and crisis-proof. In times of economic crisis, Munich’s broad and balanced mix of industries pays off. And its innovative spirit. Start-ups, high-tech and digital companies are particularly successful here. Munich start-ups grow faster and employ more people than in any other German city. A full 15% of them have unicorn ambitions and are seeking investments totalling over one billion euros. They are joined by established national and international companies and corporations from the automotive, IT and communications, biotechnology and pharmaceutical, aerospace, creative and financial industries. This success is driven by four universities and 14 colleges, making the city the second largest academic centre in Germany. Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität (LMU) and Technische Universität München (TUM) are among the best universities in the world.
The Seven is located in the centre of the state capital of Bavaria. The Gärtnerplatz district in Isarvorstadt is considered a diverse and trendy district popular with all classes. Here, business and housing, restaurants, bars, cafés and local retailers, traditional shops and creative people, celebrities, students and long-standing Munich residents mingle.

The Gärtnerplatz district is a classic in Munich’s city centre. Only about 1.5 km from the main railway station, art, culture, business and attractive, central residential locations come together here. The connections in this trendy district are first-rate – whether by car, bicycle or public transport. The narrow streets around Gärtnerplatz are lined with restaurants, cafés, bars, galleries and small shops. The district is particularly popular with artists, celebrities and long-standing Munich residents. The Viktualienmarkt, only 300 metres away, is within easy walking distance from Müllerstrasse. There is also plenty for everyday life: doctors, pharmacies, day-care centres, schools and local retailers – everything is just a stone’s throw away.
