The Fleetinselkontor office building, designed by Hamburg-based architects Störmer Murphys and Partners, closes the block perimeter with its structured brick façade. The ground floor divides into small-scale retail units. The corner section with its extra floor acts as an counterweight to the building of the business authority which dominates the location in urban-planning terms. It references the defining materials of its immediate surrounding, e.g. by including traditional brick elements and translating them into a modern language of form.
